Panhandler found with illegal knife
Officers responded to a truck stop in the 6000 block of North I-35 Friday evening after someone called complaining about two men panhandling truckers. The officers found the two men. One was released with a citation, but the officers discovered the other man had two outstanding warrants and placed him under arrest. In the man's clothing they found an illegal knife. he was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon and held on warrants for public intoxication and assault by contact.

1200 block of Cleveland street - A college student reported Friday morning that someone came into his room and stole three textbooks sometime between May 2 and Thursday. He shares the apartment with three roommates, according to the report.
