4500 block of North I-35 - A 64-year-old woman reported Saturday that sometime between April 26 and April 28 someone took $21,100 from her room in a medical facility. She believes that a person she allows to come in the room to help her took the cash. An investigation is continuing.
3500 block of East McKinney Street - A 30-year-old man called police Sunday night to report that his roommate's girlfriend locked him out of the apartment and assaulted him while he was trying to protect his own girlfriend. Then the roommate's girlfriend called 911 to complain that he assaulted her. Officers sorted out their stories and separated them for the night. No arrests were made.
100 block of Inca Street - A former employee came into his house between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Saturday, a man reported. He said the intruder took his vehicle keys, used them to open his vehicle in the driveway and steal a paint sprayer. Then the intruder returned the keys to the house, he said.
600 block of North Austin Street - A frightened woman called just before 6 a.m. Saturday asking for help in removing a strange man who was banging on her door. She said she thought he was drunk. Officers found the man still at the door and noticed that he was indeed impaired. They arrested him and found a syringe and bag of methamphetamines in his pockets.
2400 block of West Prairie Street - A frightened 60-year-old man called for help about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, saying someone was trying to kick in his front door. By the time officers arrived the door had been kicked open and the man was hiding in the back of the house. They found the suspect nearby and arrested him for burglary.
Avenue A at Mulberry Streets - A bar employee flagged down an officer about 2:40 a.m. Sunday asking for help with a drunk customer who wouldn't leave. Officers found a gun in the man's shirt pocket. They charged him with unlawfully carrying a weapon by a license holder.
200 block of Inman Street - Officers responding to a person-with-a-gun call just before 3 a.m. Saturday found the suspect leaving in a car. They charged him with disorderly conduct - displaying a firearm.
2500 block of I-35 - Paramedics took a 23-year-old man to a hospital emergency room early Saturday after a man he knows hit him in the head with two liquor bottles. The suspect was gone by the time police arrived but they obtained an arrest warrant and were looking for him.
