Lowe's reports robbery

An employee of Lowe's in the 1200 block of South Loop 288 reported about 10 p.m. Tuesday that a man stole $2,500 worth of merchandise from the store and threatened him with a Taser when he tried to stop him. There was no information about what merchandise was taken.

Other reports

800 block of Bernard Street - Officers responding to a noise complaint about 7:50 p.m. found a man outside an apartment who reeked of marijuana. The officers reported they could also smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from the apartment, even though the door was closed. Inside they could see drug paraphernalia in plain sight. They told the man he was under arrest and asked him whether he wanted to put on some shoes. He did. When they looked for the shoes they found more marijuana. About that time the suspect's roommate arrived. He gave the officers permission to search the apartment, and they found a large amount of marijuana and a large amount of cash. Both men were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

700 block of Congress Street - A 14-year-old girl reported about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday that another girl blocked her inside a choir practice room to try to get her to fight.

2300 Ranch House Drive - Police arrested three 19-year-old men on charges of theft of a firearm and engaging in organized criminal activity about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday after two victims reported they were burglarizing their car. Details were not available.
