Police break up kidnap attempt

Officers responded to the 1100 block of University Drive about 2:40 a.m.Thursday after a witness called to report that a man was holding a woman in a room at gunpoint. The witness said that when the suspect saw him he ordered him into the room as well but he left and called 911. The officers found the 25-year-old woman shaken but unharmed. They were able to disarm the man and  charge him with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

600 block of Bradshaw Street - A man made a second report on Thursday about an incident concerning a missing trailer. Earlier in the week the man said that his son loaned the trailer to a friend and it was not returned. The friend claimed he did return the trailer when the son was passed out. He didn't know what happened to it after that, he said. The trailer is still missing, the father reported. In addition, he discovered that when his son returned his truck to him the guns that were hidden inside were missing.

3900 block of Teasley Lane - The manager of a sandwich shop reported that when he entered the business about 7:30 a.m. Thursday it had been burglarized. Someone broke in and took cash, he said.

8500 Clear River Street - A woman reported that someone in Martinez California has been using her credit card information to make numerous purchases. She has her credit card and doesn't know how someone came to have her card information.
