Man threatened in street with pistol

Denton police are investigating a report from a woman that her brother was threatened by some men visiting him in the street early Tuesday. The woman said the men were in the street in front of their home in the 5300 block of East McKinney Street about 3 a.m. when they began arguing. One of the men pulled out the pistol, stuck it in her brother's face and told him "Someone is going to die tonight."
Officers arrested a 20-year-old man for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary of a motor vehicle.

Other reports

1300 Marble Cove Lane - Residents of an area reported eight vehicle burglaries when they went to their cars Tuesday morning. An investigation is continuing.
1400 Bernard Street - Someone entered a vehicle and took an IPod, a laptop computer, a game system and 15 games, the owner reported about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.
1100 North Bell Avenue - Someone punched holes along the driver's side panels of his car, a man reported about 11 p.m. Tuesday, and he thought he knew who the suspect might be. Officers found that man hiding in the bushes near the car and charged him with criminal mischief.
Duncan at Kerley streets - Officers are sorting out the stories of two men after neighbors reported that the driver of a Jeep Cherokee was trying to run over a pedacyclist. Then the pedacyclist punched out a window of the Jeep.

    
Denton police responded to 36 calls from Midnight Monday to Midnight Tuesday, including three reports of criminal mischief, three thefts, on report containing information only, one arrest for hindering apprehension, one felony warrant, three assaults, one drowning, seven charges of selling tobacco to a minor, one noise complaint, 11 vehicle burglaries, one runaway and one aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
