Man threatens to "shoot up" woman's workplace

A terrified woman called 911 about 9:40 p.m. Sunday to report that her former boyfriend had threatened to come into her workplace with a gun and kill everyone inside. The 19-year-old woman said she holds a protective order against the man to keep him away from both her workplace and her home. She said she received a text from him with the threat and looked outside and saw him standing across the street. She locked the front door and called 911. When police arrived the man could not be found. An investigation is continuing.

2700 block of Stockton Street - While a family was attending a funeral Sunday someone broke into their home and took several items, according to a report. Among the missing property were a laptop computer, a tablet computer and several pieces of jewelry.

1300 block of Dallas Drive - A 25-year-old woman reported Saturday morning that she was assaulted by a man who tried to gain her telephone number at an apartment complex pool. The woman said she was at the pool about 11:40 a.m. and a man who was also there asked for her telephone number. She said no and he became angry and started yelling at her. She turned to leave and he grabbed her by the throat from behind, she said. She pulled away and he tackled her and knocked her to the ground. A friend of hers saw the attack and ran up to help. The man fled, according to the report.

2300 block of Fowler Drive - Police counseled with a 15-year-old boy after his family called for help. They said he was angry and turned on the gas on the stove. He said "instead of arguing we should all be dead," according to the report.
