Man caught pleasuring himself on street corner

Concerned callers told police about 9:20 p.m. Thursday that a man dressed in a white shirt and shorts was masturbating at the corner of North Ruddell and McKinney streets. Officers drove to the location and found the man. He was acting erratically aside from the pleasuring and they took him to a Denton mental hospital for evaluation.

North I35 at McCormick streets - Callers reported about 6:35 p.m. Thursday that a man was lying on the service road apparently passed out. Officers determined that he was intoxicated. While they were rousing him another man walked up. He said that the drunk man had threatened him with a folding pocket knife a few minutes earlier and demanded cash. The victim said he gave the man a $10 bill.
The officers performed a field sobriety test on the suspect and he failed all signs, according to the report. They found the folding knife and a $10 bill. They charged him with aggravated robbery and public intoxication.
1800 block of South Loop 288 - the manager of a telephone store reported that a man came into the store about 5:15 p.m. Thursday and stole a cell phone that had been on display. The suspect replaced the real phone with a mock phone, the manager said. He had video of the theft and an investigation is continuing.
2700 block of West University Drive - A woman told police about 2:45 p.m. that she was inside a big box store for less than an hour. When she returned to the parking lot about 1 p.m. she discovered that someone had stolen the bumper from her car.
South Interstate 35 at Teasley Lane - A caller reported about 1 p.m. Thursday that a woman lost control of her car, nearly hit four other cars and ran into a wall. The caller followed the woman when she left the scene and kept officers apprised of her location until they found her. They found six different types of controlled substances in the 23-year-old woman's possession, according to the report, and they charged her with six counts of possession of a controlled substance.
