                                                      THE COP SHOP

Freedom from jail short lived

Officers sent to break up an altercation at a house in the 600 block of Bradshaw Street about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday found a man who had been recently released from jail. He was drunk and causing problems, according to the report. He was attacking his mother, and when his former wife tried to stop him he bit her, she told police. The officers took him back to jail on charges of family violence assault.

Other reports

1200 block of Interstate 35E - An officer who had just mediated a conflict in a motel room had not made it out of the parking lot when he received another dispatch to the same motel. In the first call, two half-brothers had been fighting in a room. One of the brothers had agreed to leave for the night and had left on foot. The second call was to the same room, where a caller claimed there was drug activity going on. The officer knew there had been no drugs in the room when he was inside. The call came from a nearby convenience store, according to the report. He went to the store and viewed the video. It showed pictures of the brother who had agreed to leave the room making the 911 call. The officer found the suspect walking nearby and arrested him on a charge of making a false report.
