Couple robbed at knife point

Two people flagged down a police officer at the corner of Carroll Boulevard and Eagle Drive Thursday night and told the officer they had just been robbed. The 31-year-old woman and 29-year-old man said about 10:25 p.m. that a stranger had just threatened them with a knife in a nearby apartment complex parking lot and took their money. They said the man then got into a white SUV and sped away. An investigation is continuing.

1800 block of North Ruddell Street - The thanks a 19-year-old man got for helping his uncle move was being choked out, he told police about 10:20 p.m. Thursday. He said they began arguing and the uncle put his hands around his throat and cut off his air. This was another in a long history of violence in the family over a past incident, the officer learned.

800 block of North Loop 288 - Responding to a report from a citizen about a reckless driver about 1:25 a.m. Thursday, an officer made a traffic stop. He determined the man was intoxicated and arrested him on a charge of driving while intoxicated. A subsequent search turned up a handgun, and the officer added a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon.
