Man took baseball bat to knife fight

Officers responding to a fight in the 2400 block of Charlotte Street late Thursday night found a man with a stab wound in his right arm. The man said he was in a fight earlier and punched a man in the face. Then he went home to his apartment. When he arrived he grabbed a baseball bat and walked down into the parking lot where he was confronted by two men he had previously been in the fight with. They assaulted him, he said, and one of them stabbed him.

3900 block of Grant Parkway - A 21-year-old man called police about 7 p.m. Thursday about a burglary. He told responding officers that a juvenile came into his home and stole a 12-pack of Pepsi. The juvenile was still there, and the officers turned him over to juvenile authorities.

1200 block if Avenue A - Officers who were investigating drug activity at an apartment found a teen-aged girl there. They knew she was a runaway but she gave them a wrong name to avoid being detected. They turned her over to juvenile authorities.
