Can't We All Just Get Along?

Officers responding to a report of a fight in a parking lot in the 900 block of Bernard Street about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday sorted out relationships and former relationships and made the following report: They learned on the way to the call that guns and knives might be involved. They learned that someone was trying to leave the scene in a silver SUV. An officer stopped the vehicle and found a couple inside. The male was bleeding from a knife wound in the thigh.
The woman said her niece's former boyfriend began arguing with her and then attacked her. Her own boyfriend intervened, she said, and the niece's former boyfriend produced a big switchblade knife and stabbed her boyfriend in the leg. The niece's former boyfriend then fled the scene.

Other Reports

1700 block of Teasley Lane - Officers responded to a fight call just before 10 p.m. Wednesday and found the participants still in the area. They arrested a 19-year-old man for public intoxication. A search turned up a switchblade knife in his clothing. He was charged with both offences.

900 block of Scott Street - Another fight call report came in about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. Officers chased the fleeing suspects and caught the 18- and 19- year old men. Two victims reported they got into an argument with them and they attacked them. The suspects were charged with aggravated assault and evading arrest.
