Man sends money to Lebanon in scam

A 48-year-old man told police Wednesday that he lost a thousand dollars in an apparent scam. He said he received a telephone call and the caller told him that he had received a $7,500 grant because he had good credit. All he needed to do to receive the grant, according to the caller, was send $968.99 to an address in Lebanon for transaction fees. The victim wired the money but never received his grant. He believes he has been defrauded.

5300 block of East McKinney Street - A man reported to police Wednesday that a person he knows stole his 80-year-old mother's debit and credit cards. The suspect then used the cards to make transactions in numerous business around Denton. The total loss was not listed in the report.

2300 block of Fowler Street - A woman called police asking for help Wednesday afternoon with her 15-year-old twin daughters. She said the girls began fighting over a wig and were hitting each other with their fists and were injured.
